Missions 2004
September23-October2 2004 Lynn Fleming
This team, chosen by God, had to be the most diverse group that
has ever come together as a team. We had team members from California,
Washington State, Colorado, Virginia, Alabama, and Florida. Only
a few people knew each other. All were meeting a lot of new friends.
It was amazing to see this group mesh, in just a short amount of
time we were all talking and interacting as if we had known each
other for a long time. The medical team was amazing. We had not
one doctor, not two doctors, but four doctors on this team. When
Jane Cox, our team leader, had informed me of the doctors that had
signed on for this mission trip, I knew that God had plans for us!
We all merged completely as a group at La Ceiba, only missing Dr.
Jon Ransom who was held up in Washington due to passport problems.
On our first full day at La Ceiba, a portion of the group was slated
to traveled to La Danta to provide a small clinic for the people
of this mountain village. A church in Alabama had donated church
seats, which were now in the Church at La Danta. . Dr. Camp, Dan
Zinn, Jean Isaacs, Nan Patterson, Lisa Amin, Sister Eleanor, Shane
and myself made up the group that traveled up the mountain road
(in Alabama we would call it a small path) to La Danta. |
