Eye Clinics
The Eye Clinic project was one of the first projects of the Honduran Mission. Early team members collected used eye glasses and matched the glasses to the needs of people in Honduras.
Eye Clinics are available to the people when the Mission Teams visit their villages.  Volunteers go into the local schools to administer eye exams to the children.  Referrals are made for further treatment and/or glasses are provided as needed by the Mission Team.

Through out the year, the Alabama Honduran Mission collects good used sets of eyeglasses that would normally be discarded.  These glasses can be cleaned and fitted to the people in Honduras.  Recycling used eye glasses is good in at least two ways: it makes use of an item that would normally be discarded and placed in a landfill, and it gives the gift of clearer vision to people who have limited access to eye care and in most cases, cannot afford a pair of new glasses.

This child has a problem with one of her eyes.  The Alabama Honduran Mission through donations, have raised funds for surgery to correct the problem.
