10/23/03 Letter from Mariana
Dear Dr. Tom Camp and Bill Camp,
Thank you so much for all you do. We appreciate your help.
You always have a sweet smile for us. God bless you and your family.
We will see you all next year.
Then in Spanish the letter reads something like the following:
In this report I will tell you the following. Each boy is crafting
his
Own chair and together they are making a table. We are all doing
well and are trying to serve our Lord. Also we hope that other
people can be trained in the carpenter school. English is very
important. At time we don't take advantage enough of what we have.
Although we are not professionals we are trying to help others
with God's help and with your economic support and the help of
your hands. When you come here to work you don't care how much
you suffer.
I love you all.
We are praying every day for all those that collaborate in this
project
And those who have not and for all in your country.
(Mariana interspersed several English sentences among her Spanish
sentences. She is doing well with her writing. It is very easy
to read, although the Spanish section tends to lack very many
periods to mark the end of her sentences. If anyone would like
to write her back, I am sure it would be a great gift to her and
Alfredo.
Their Address is:
Mariana Maldonado
Plan de Flores, Limon
Colon Honduras C.A.
(Please note in your letter that CA stands for Central America)
To AHMEN,
Once more I want to thank God for spiritual and economical help.
Well I know God has opened doors for me to learn English with
a purpose that not even
I understand, but I know that I will make it. I have began to
teach what I have learnt and I
have completed my first five weeks of study.
I hope the people will receive this as a gift from youall.
We are really grateful for you and all your people who come to
help us and work with their hands.
We know they do this with love because they care about us, our
community and our country.
I know there are a few of us who recognize your great sacrifices.
Me husband always says that the blessings come because of giving.
God bless,and thank you!
