Thank
you so much for praying for me, &/or
sponsoring me, while we were in Honduras.
It wouldn't have been possible without
your prayers. It was an awesome experience.
Right
when I stepped off the plane, I saw
how hot it was. The mainland wasn’t so good
but once I got to Utila it was great. I can’t
wait till I get to go back.
Now
on to the things I did. I helped in the
medical clinic till lunch on Monday, I couldn’t
do much though. After lunch, Bucket (he
was like one of the team leaders), brought me
to the eyeglass clinic. I worked there
the rest of the week - till Wed anyway. I was
going to work on Thurs, but I got food
poisoning when I ate a bad fish Wed night.
On
Tues, my dad, PD, Josh, & I went fishing in
a canoe with a 26 horsepower yanmar motor,
we caught super for the team and dad & PD cooked
it. Yummy!
During
the two weeks there were 54 people saved
- AMEN! And we gave
out tons of glasses and medicine to people
in need. One special person that got saved
was Nandito. He called us last week.
He turned out to be one of my favorite people
on the island. The way I got to know Nandito
is that he came to everyone of our devotions
at 6am & 8pm he even came to see us off
at 4am on the fishing trip. One of my other
favorites is Tony, he owned the hotel we stayed
at. He was very nice and a great christian
man.
I
am so glad that I live in the states. I walked
through this place/area of the island called
camponado. We understood that the people
were promised that land if they voted for a
certain president. It looks like a swamp
with houses in it, and instead of trees there
is garbage. Gross!
The
only day I didn’t
like was Friday. That was the morning when
we left the island, I just didn’t want
to leave all my new friends. But when we got
back to the mainland I couldn’t wait
to leave. I didn’t feel nearly as safe
there as I did on the island.
Once
again, I just wanted to thank you for your
prayers & support
.
God
Bless you,
James
