Brainstorming at AHMEN Generates Fresh Ideas

“ What Ever Good AHMEN Team Leader Needs to Know”

How about having each team sent 1 – 3 pages of ideas that have worked or not worked for them. Let’s start a “How to” book for new folks/teams going. If each team added their “two cents”, in short time there would be a whole lot of good ideas.

This particular idea came from Brad Guffey. We could put it on the web page and add/edit/subtract as needed. We are looking for a person to “head up” this project. If you are willing to participate either as a contributor or to be our point person, let me know:

Guf and Mary have commented that we might consider having a more open discussion of anyone who has input to share in a “meeting”. Good way to exchange ideas and also to work out “kinks” in our program.

If this sounds like a good idea, let the Guffey’s know. Perhaps our first one could be at the loading date for the container this spring:

Rev. Dale Capron, Pastor of Christ UMC, Jasper, has suggested we have regular devotionals, prayer sessions, and mission discussions for anyone interested in the AHMEN mission.
Perhaps our first one could be at the loading date for the container this spring:
If you like this idea, give some feedback to Dale:

Minutes

2008 AHMEN Teams Leadershiop Meeting Agenda and Minutes
The morning was dedicated to very brief presentations of specific ongoing projects. In addition, Sister Eleanor spoke regarding Cruzada and Bill Camp spoke about Chimes. Paulette spoke about available grants and a lady from Montgomery spoke about UMVIM’s pre-travel clinic for inoculations (contact Paulette at UMVIM if you need shots. The clinic is scheduled for May 3rd. The afternoon utilized break-out tables and was broken into two parts. The first part was to allow persons representing specific destinations to meet with and discuss the needs at their location. There was a table for each of the places under “where are we working” on the agenda. The second half of the afternoon had a table for each of the “what are we doing” categories.
Overall the meeting did a good job of reviewing what AHMEN has been doing historically plus involving several new activities. You’ll note on the agenda that we had persons representing the AU Wesley Foundation, the AU & UAB Auditory departments, the sock (monkey) puppet ministry, the UAB optometry department and an organization from Florida with a library book ministry. Almost as importantly, there was a lot of fellowship and networking between members.
Each person at the meeting was asked to fill out an attendance sheet giving their contact info. The contact names, phone numbers, and addresses will be posted on this web site in the near future for more information on specific topics you might be interested in.
