AHMEN’s
Annual Team Leadership Meeting
Jan 19, 2008
Time: 9 A.M. to approximately. 3 P.M.
Each year AHMEN has a general meeting to facilitate the work all of you do in
Honduras. This year’s meeting will be at the usual Methodist Center, B’ham
Southern College, B’ham, Al
There will be some changes; we hope to make it more meaningful both for the “old
folks”, the newer team leadership, and for the mission members.
Who is invited?
1. Any and all team members.
2. All team leaders
3. Anyone in leadership roles
4. Anyone considering leadership roles in the future
5. Anyone considering going to Honduras
6. Anyone who wants to learn more about the Honduran mission work and how to
interact with it.
7. Anyone representing a particular project in Honduras
8. Anyone who needs VIM team leadership training
9. Anyone representing churches or organization that might want to send a team
or just know more about what we do.
There will
be a special “break out” session for
those who need Paulette’s VIM Team Leadership Training
Seminar.
What is the charge for all of this? Only the price of
the lunch, so just bring enough to cover your meal. The lunch
will be served
at the Methodist Center and we will use this time for getting
to know each other.
What will we cover and will it be worth giving
a day out of your life for Honduras?
Team Reports
Each team is asked to tell about their past and
future plans.
Projects
Reports: what is going on, what are the needs, how can we all
work together on them?
Future projects: tell us about
your dreams and how other teams can help.
Locations to serve in Honduras
Why, where, what is available.
Several new areas are opening up and need teams. Be prepared
to tell us about them.
How to join
one of the teams if you are from another area and/or have a service
to offer.
Some new things this year:
Teams from Florida and Canada are
looking to partner with current teams.
Ebenezer Baptist from S.C. has been utilizing the container
and supplying roofing. How do they do that and what can we learn
from them?
There is a “new” Monkey Ministry that is
looking for teams to partner with.
CHIMES is looking for more teams and
has added some new services. What are they?
AHMEN’s eye program was greatly extended
last year and is planning to continue. How to become part of
that.
Utila has
a brand new mission and needs will be discussed. Also, whom to
contact and how it works
Cruzado’s Educational/Community
center is off and running, but they need YOU to finish. What
is that about and how can you
help and why should you.
A group of Auburn Veterinarians is looking
for a team next year. What can you do to entice them to go with
you or give them some
advice?
Larry Pitts Ministry is up and running and looking for
teams. What would that involve.
When will the next container go down
and how to be a part of that.
How to avoid “BURNOUT”. You are needed in your
work in Honduras, but sometime you just get tired. What to do
about
this?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Now
for the nuts and bolts:
We do need to know how many folks
will be coming.
We do need
to know how many folks will be taking Paulette’s
Team Leadership Course
We do need to know who will be speaking
for your team.
We do
need to put your “project” on the agenda.
Please
let me know the answer to these questions.
