Dear Co-laborers for Christ,
Here is a story that will touch your heart. Over 30+ years ago my Mother, Jean Isbell (founder of Crusada
del Evangelio de Honduras), trained a young couple to return to their village and spread the message that
Jesus loves them and that He is the light of the world. Since that time they have founded over 100
churches in the department of Yoro. Modesto and Oneida Gonzales have persevered through poverty, loss of a
child, depression, illness and the list goes on. Today is a time when they find themselves in a situation
that compels them to continue spreading the Gospel of Christ and working with Crusadas to bring humanitarian
relief to their people.
Along with the leadership of the board, Eleanor Cooper, David Kelly, and Modesto strive to meet not
only the spiritual needs but also the humanitarian needs of this community. This is where Modesto is
today. He has at least three immediate villages that are currently experiencing ongoing seismic shocks
ranging from 4.5 to 7. The latest hap pended in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Already we have 20 families, from one of our churches in Luwiqui, that have been told not to return to their
village. They are told not to return but the government doesn't provide them with any type of
relief or a shelter to go to. They ultimately rely on our Christian based mission to provide for them.
While this disaster is going on, we are still assessing many in the jungle of Mosquitia because they
are recovering from the floods caused by the latest hurricane that hit a glancing blown almost two weeks
ago! We have had already sent food and medicine to them before the earthquakes started this last week in
the mountains. They have lost their crops and are in need of food and medicine. They also lost the roof
from one of their Misquito Indian churches.
Back to the mountains of Yoro. The Tolupanes Indians that live in the village of Marale are also in dire
need of shelter, food, and medicine. The needs are country wide and we are trying to be a pipeline to
meet the most urgent of those needs. We know we can't do all that is required but we will continue to do all
we can do.
None of this would be possible without the love, prayers and generosity of the many supporters in North
America. A special thanks to the AHMEN group of supporters and their leader Dr.Tom Camp from Alabama.
Their donation of medicine and supplies have gone a long way in meeting the immediate needs of the jungle
villagers and will be used in the mountains as well. The churches we have and the people we minister to are
far from the eyes of the country officials of Honduras and receive almost no assistance from their
government. It is our honor and privilege to assist where we can and we appreciate all you can do to
assist us in accomplishing that goal. The immediate need is an infusion of funds to stem the tide. It will
take approximately $5000 to cover what we have borrowed and expect to spend in the next few weeks.
Please pray and ask god if you should be a part of this restoration project of love.
Thank you,

Dan Isbell
