 To:
AHMEN TEAMS AND MEMBERS
FROM: DENNIS ROCHEZ,
Ambassador of Culture, Honduras
THANK YOU from Dennis
Many of you have had Abigail Rochez in their prayers. Abigail is one
of 5 year old twins of Dennis who was hospitalized for acute Bronchitis
in Intensive Care in Honduras. Dennis had called and asked for prayers
for Abigail and this request was put on several prayer chains. After
talking to Dennis today, he reports she is out of Intersive Care and
doing much better. They all hope to be home for Christmas.
Again, a big "Thank You" from Dennis.

Ciriboya Clinic Announcement
You are invited to the grand opening of the Ciriboya Clinic
that is a combined effort of many groups over the last 2 years.
The two individuals that are most responsible for the Clinic
are Bill Camp from CHMIMES and Dr. Luther Castillo from Honduras.
In addition to those two, the people and groups that have put
energy into the building and supplying of the clinic just goes
on and on. There is no way to list all of the folks involved
in the wonderful task. Let this serve as a “THANK YOU’ for
all who have contributed to this great work.
Mary Guffey, AHMEN Eye Program Director, and I were talking today about
the clinic and she commented on the magnitude of the work that has gone
into the clinic in the short time. Long-term goad of the clinic is to
build an infrastructure for the delivery of public health to the rural,
undeserved areas of Honduras. Another goal is to facilitate the amalgamation
of Honduran, American, and Cuban medical personnel, both as a service
to the local communities and as a way of exchanging information and medical
techniques. .
Back to the purpose of this article: On Dec. 8 there will be a GRAND
OPENING of the clinic and Bill and Luther have invited all who read this
to come to Ciriboya and help them celebrate the event. To find out how,
when, where to meet up with the other folks going to Honduras for the
opening, call Bill Camp (916-612-9999) or e-mail Teresa Velasenor (teresa@sacramentolabor.org).
Some of the folks going from California include:
Bill Camp – CHIMES
Bud McKinney – CHIMES
Jesus Cacho – CHIMES and Honduras
Roy Grimes – Sacramento School Board
John Garamendi – Lt. Governor of California
Patti Garmendi – former Peace Corp Worker
Catherine Camp – Childcare activist, State of California
For a different kind of Celebration, consider going for a unique Grand
Opening.

FLOODS
HIT THE COLON, HONDURAS, AREA
from Sandy Palencio, La Ceiba, Honduras
Hi, Dr. Camp,
We pray you are all doing well today. We are all good here at La Ceiba,
but getting quite a bit of rains. In the Colon area they have a lot of
villages flooding. At San Jose de La Punta the pastor reported the river
had the village divided. They have been evacuating people from a lot of
the areas. Some of the villages which have been flooding are Cusuna, Iriona
Viejo, Sangrelaya, Champas, I think Tocamacho also. On the Mosquito Coast
they have also been flooding, pastor David Smith at Rio Platano reported
that most of the village is flooded. He said yesterday one family who were
trying to cross the river in a boat, to bring their crops in, had their
boat turned over and they almost drowned. They are loosing a lot of their
crops, so please keep them all in prayer.
God's best to you all,
Sandy Palencio,
Cruzado de Evangelico
La Ceiba, Honduras
How could you help? Food to eat; Roofing for homes; Money for replanting
of crops
There are several ways to send help.
