Decatur Team Closing Devotion
As a closing devotion I wanted to send this to everyone that
went to Honduras, although the TEAM Honduras 2007 from CUMC included
many more individuals – we were the ones that shared the
blessing of being there.
God assembled a group of diverse individuals,
some from Alabama, some from Honduras, and this blend of individuals
formed a mission
team. Remembering that there was a lot of work that was done
in support of this trip before we ever left Huntsville, I thank
everyone that had a helping hand. The 16 of us that made the
trip to Honduras received a special blessing and for those that
helped and stayed in the USA we thank you helping us too receive
this blessing. Those of us that joined, many did not know each
other before, all had different talents and personalities – joined
more individuals in Honduras that also had different talents
and personalities (some did not even speak English) – we
all blended together as a TEAM to serve God’s will to a
mass of individuals with different needs.
It is a treasure to
be a part of the TEAM and this temporary collection of individuals
has made a permanent change in my heart
and I feel certain we had an impact of the people in the villages
with whom we shared our talents.
An excerpt from a poem in Song
of the Soul:
Friendship is noble, fruitful, holy –
When separate souls
march in difference,
Yet in harmony; agreeing
and disagreeing,
Glowingly improving
diversely…
Ah, friendship – flowering,
heaven-born plant!
Nurtured
thou art in the soul of measureless love,
In the seeking
of soul progress together
By each who would smooth
the way, each for the other.
May you
find a smooth path in front of you always.
Gods Blessing
and Thanks for the memories!
