Central Decatur Mission Team August 07
Hello Family and Friends,
We want to give you an update on what we´ve been doing
since our email Sunday night.
Monday, July 30,we spent the day seeing children and adults
at the school in El Carril. This facility has over 600 students.
We provided one or more services for all of them and a few parents.
Dr. Katherine continues to be very busy as does our pharmacist,
Jane. Eye glasses, vitamins, and worm medicine operates at a
steady pace.
Today, Tuesday, we drove back to San Jose to their school. As
in all places we´ve been, the people are very friendly
and excited to see us. There were long lines of students and
parents waiting. It is an amazing sight to watch the faces of
people when they put on their new glasses and are able to see
well.
We mentioned a few of our team members by name in our last message
and we want to give you an update on the others.
Tina has become an expert at giving doses of worm medicine.
Nita screens patients before they see Katherine.
Linda has memorized the eye chart in Spanish.
Jeri has stuck a lot of fingers.
Todd is our banker and helps out in all areas.
Jim is the pharmacy tech.
Martha is doing a great job dispensing vitamins.
Penny has become proficient at dispensing reading glasses and
helping out in other areas where nursing skillls are needed.
Everyone has a job as there is plenty of work to be done.
We are all well and running from early to late. Tomorrow we
check out of Olinchito Hotel and travel to the school here in
town to see patients.
After we finish there we will drive the 2 hours to La Ceiba
Please continue to pray for us.
