Can Change Lives
Just wanted to drop you a note about our recent Honduras mission trip.
I participated in a Missions trip to Yoro and Yorito July 1st - 8th led
by Rod Beck from GSUMC. Our team had two wonderful doctors with us, Dr.
Cindy McAdams, and Shelley Whitney, CNP, who worked a clinic (with allot
of help from a super pharmacy and triage team) in Yorito 4 days and 1 day
in Yoro. We also had a great team doing vision screening and providing
eyeglasses, a veterinary team, two construction crews, doing electrical
and plumbing on the old parsonage in Yorito, and a traveling Vacation Bible
School puppet show, which ministered to an average of 300 kids per day
in Yorito and at a other parts of the province, including a neighboring
elementary school. While we were there we also had the chance to get to
know several of the young men in the village, including pastor Modesto's
19-yr. old son, who's name escapes me, and the Martinez brothers, Alvarro
(18) and Nestor (17)…all three of whom worked hand-in-hand with CD
Tripp and Mac Reynolds to accomplish the wiring of the future mission house.
Since I was working the VBS program, I only had a few opportunities to
work with Alvarro and Nestor, but I can tell you that Mac and CD were impressed
with their work ethic, and really found tremendous satisfaction in sharing
their knowledge with these
very attentive and industrious young men. CD and Linda Tripp have provided
some funds to help cover the boys' transportation expenses to carpentry
school and back, and I know they have sponsors for their food and dorms,
so Mac, CD, and I (with the support of Linda Tripp and my wife Alice) wanted
to provide an account to cover Alvarro and Nestor's living expenses like,
clothes, toiletries, spending money and other needs. If you can provide
me with the approach to do that (where to send checks, how to mark them
to make sure they go to the right place, etc.) we would really appreciate
your help.
I have two email addresses. This is my work email
account: max.eddy@ngc.com. Sometimes the SPAM/Virus
blocker filters out emails from outside my company,
so if you don't hear back from me, it might mean I
did not get your email, in which case, my home email:
maxeddy@knology.net might work better.
Thanks for your time and effort.
