Limon Soup Kitchen: Tables and Chairs
The Limon Soup Kitchen for Orphans and Widows is serving its primary goal. They are now feeding 65 orphans and 25 widows 5 meals a day. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of this.
What is next?
1. The kids are eating on the floor of the upstairs of the Chruzado church in Limon. Guf and Mary Guffey have found a source of picnic type tables and chairs at a surplus store. Anyone who would like to be part of this
purchase please send your check to AHMEN, mark for Limon Soup Kitchen Table and Chairs. Guf will take the amount of money sent in and use it to bid on the items. If the bid is under our pledges, the rest of the money will be used to ship the tables and chairs on the next available container - hopefully in time for Christmas this year.
2. Plans for adding fruits and vegetables to the menu are a big item for some of the support staff for the soup kitchen. So far the menu has been limited mostly to rice, beans, chicken, and spaghetti.
3. The staff in Limon are delivering meals to shut-ins. This includes about 5 meals/day.
4. This year the Guffey's plan for a computer school and English classes to be made available to the orphans as well as others in the Limon area. Both schools will be located in the second floor of the Cruzado Church and easily available to the Limon Soup Kitchen folks.
We welcome anyone who wants to be part of this mission.
