Listed below or the projects we are participating in.
1. Girl’s Dorm in La Ceiba
This is a dormitory for girls either in dangerous or potentially
dangerous situations. They live in a safe Christian environment,
attend school, and have food, school supplies, clothing, and medical
help. The goal is for the ladies to become graduate from high
school and be able to enter society as competent, educated leaders
in their community.

fishing village of Limon. She feeds the kids, holds “tutoring
sessions” in the church for school age kids, and has “wheels
on meals” delivery by bicycle. For more info contact Danny

we need constructing teams to complete the flooring or the second
floor of Cruzado’s Church in Limon for a permanent home
for the soup kitchen. Also needed is a deep freezer.

(J.T. Ray, Sr.).
3. Limon Sewing School:
Limon Sewing School: 7 years ago the ladies of this remote fishing
village ask AHMEN to “teach them to fish”. Their idea
was to start a sewing school. There have been over 30 ladies graduate
from this school. The graduates have found good paying jobs in
sewing programs, started their own business, or sew out of their
homes.
The town of Limon has given the Sewing School a piece of property
and the ladies have asked AHMEN to help them build a new, expanded
building. The plans are to build a combination school and graduate
program. The school will continue its primary mission of training
the ladies of the town to make a living. In addition, there will
be an opportunity for the graduates to continue their work and
produce local, Gariffina clothing for the people of Limon, the
surrounding area, and any tourist trade. For more information
check out the web page under Limon Sewing School www.honduranmissions.com
or contact Linda Norris (jerry_norris@bellsouth.net).
We are looking for construction persons and sewing persons for
summer of ’06 missions.
4. Instituto Technico de Plan de Flores:
Instituto Technico de Plan de Flores: Pastor Alfredo and his wife
Marianna requested help in devising a way for the youth of their
congregation of this small, remote village to make a living. The
village is located 30 minutes from our main medical mission on
a dirt road. The village had no sanitary water and no electricity.
What it did have is a Christian man and his wife with a vision.
The school has grown to include a thriving church, sanitary water
for the entire town, a sewing school with a government sponsored
teacher, a technical school for high schools students who learn
carpentry, furniture making, and wood carving. In addition, there
is now a graduate program for advance work in woodworking and
marketing as well as an English course. To learn more about this
and/or participate in this exciting program contact: Jane Cox
(JCOXHSE@aol.com) or check out the school on the www.honduranmissions.com
web site.
5. Building Projects:
1. Yorito Church and Mission Compound. AHMEN
affiliates with Cruzado de Evangelico, an evangelical protestant
denomination of Central America. The Cruzado Church in Yorito
serves an extremely poor area. AHMEN and Cruzado have an ongoing
building project for the church as well as the mission compound.
The project has made great strides in the past 2 years. This is
an exciting project and an opportunity to see lives changes. Contact;
Rod Beck (rbeck@applied-genomics.com), CD Tripp carroll.tripp@conagrafoods.com,
Rev. Ray Crump (RayLCr@aol.com), or Bucket Guthrie (jb021980@aol.com).

6. Pastor’s Dorm: This is an ongoing project
in La Ceiba to create a place where the pastors and their families
can stay when they come to La Ceiba and the Mission Compound for
continuing education or medical problems. What is needed here
is a team willing to work at construction for the completion of
this very important and necessary project for the Cruzado organization
to take care of their pastors, their families, and to grow. Contact:

7. Pointe Pietra (Point of Rock): Mt. Vernon
Baptist Church, Curry, Alabama, teamed up with Pastor Roberto
de Cruzado’s Chruch and they completed building a brand
spanking new church in this beautiful Gariffina Fishing Village.
What is up for ’06? The men of Mt. Vernon will “buddy
up” with the men of Pointe Pietra and drain a malaria infested
swamp behind the church. The ladies of both churches plan to start
a sewing school at the church. Want to be part of this “Baptist
Connection”?, contact Richard Bowie (PharmKnife@aol.com),

or Betty Sullivan (AUmomUNA2@aol.com)
Ciriboya Medical Clinic:
Sacramento First UMC, Sacramento, Calif, started this exciting
project. One year ago members of this team met a young, soon to
be Garifinna doctor graduating from medical school in Cuba. Their
relationship can be tracked by looking in the web page under CHIMES.
There have already been 5 medical/construction teams in the Ciriboya
area. The Ciriboya Clinic will be the only 24 hr. emergency/surgical/obstetrical
clinic in this section of Honduras. To be a part of this exciting
project, contact Bill Camp (bill.camp@sacramentolabor.org) or
916-612-9999).
Libraries:
Plan de Flores: Last year CHIMES, in conjunction with AHMEN, begin
a public library at the Instituto Technico de Plan de Flores.
There are already several hundred books at the school. This library
is open to the public. The librarian is Mariana, wife of Pastor
